MEMx is already underway on several projects that contribute to building an open system of innovation across the region.  These efforts are examples of policy development, bringing new resources, the realignment of partners, capital formation, strategy and consulting, advocacy, introducing technology, data mining, and much more.

HR&A Advisors

MEMx has engaged HR&A to perform a landscape analysis and stakeholder engagement to inform the building of an Economic Development Fund.  Priority areas include but are not limited to Entrepreneurship & Business Growth, Infrastructure & Physical Investments, and Talent Development for the Creative Economy.

Industry University Cooperative Research Center

MEMx and Start Co. serve on the Industry Advisory Board for the University of Memphis' Center for Freight & Logistics Efficiency with Electrified & Automated Trucking; a cooperative of industry partners investing in university research for greater industry advancements

America's Competitiveness Exchange

MEMx and the City of Memphis were invited to submit an application to be the next US Host of the America's Competitiveness Exchange, an economic development road tour of ambassadors, economic agencies, and foreign ministries seeking to expand and build new partnerships.

The Urban Institue

The Urban Institute is producing an Entrepreneurship & Small Business Data & Policy Report to better inform the Memphis region how better to intervene for underserved firms.  This especially speaks to the lack of exposure and starting up of diverse firms in innovation and growing sectors.

More For Memphis

MEMx is leading the Entrepreneurship and Small Business areas for the Economic Development pillar of the More 4 Memphis Plan.  This effort is currently focused on South Memphis through a series of workshops, events, and accelerator programs.  Interested firms and entrepreneurs should REGISTER to learn more.

Midsouth NSF ICorps Program

MEMx recruited the Midsouth National Science Foundation ICorps Program to the University of Memphis which is now offering early stage R&D and commercialization programming for faculty and student researchers and entrepreneurs in general who are building a new technology or solution.  More information can be found HERE.

3D Printed Home Technology

Start Co. sourced and brokered this new technology for the Memphis community that United Housing & Convergence Memphis have now signed a contract with ICON for an affordable housing development thanks to an initial investment by Orion Financial.
